Pr Arnaud Perrier

Arnaud Perrier, born on May 19, 1959, studied Medicine in the Geneva University Faculty of Medicine in Switzerland, from which he graduated in 1982.

After 2 years of basic research in renal physiology, he trained in internal medicine and in pulmonology in the Geneva University Hospital. He returned to a full time position in internal medicine in 1994 and was head of the Division of General Internal Medicine in the Geneva University Hospital (HUG) from 2004 to 2016, and chief of the Department of Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation and Geriatrics from 2011 to 2014. He is now medical director of the HUG since 2015.

His main research interests cover the field of venous thromboembolism, with the perspective of developing validated diagnostic and cost-effective diagnostic strategies.

His interests encompass medical education and he participated actively to the development and implementation of the new pregraduate curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva.
